Alan Warboys

Chief Executive Officer, Accord Multi Academy Trust

Alan Warboys is the founding Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Accord Multi Academy Trust (Accord), a cross-phase multi-academy rust based in Wakefield, West Yorkshire, currently serving approximately 3,500 pupils and with 500 staff members.

Prior to establishing Accord, Alan held a range of senior and executive leadership positions securing significant improvements across several secondary schools, and as a result was designated as a National Leader of Education (NLE) in 2013.

Alan has also worked as a Regional Director of Education within a large multi-academy trust, gaining experience in cross-phase education and formal collaboration, and as an NLE, Alan has undertaken deployments to support several academies and multi-academy trusts across the region in a variety of different contexts.

Over the last decade, Accord has benefited from a sustained period of consolidation and growth, enhancing its capacity to secure the excellent provision for young people, recruit and retain high-quality staff, whilst embedding its reputation as a strong Trust within the sector.

In 2025, Accord began work on a voluntary merger with Maltby Learning Trust (MLT), a South Yorkshire based multi-academy trust with a shared ethos and a strong track record of its own. Together, the two trusts announced the creation of a new organisation, Place Partnership, bringing their collective strengths together to broaden their impact.

The merger is expected to take effect from 1 September 2026, at which point Alan will become CEO of Place Partnership.
