Vicky Gowan
Victoria Gowan is Interim Executive Headteacher at Lord Derby Academy in Knowsley and Broadoak School in Trafford, both part of the Multi Academy Dean Trust. She began her career as a Modern Languages teacher in Knowsley and has served in her substantive post as Headteacher at Lord Derby Academy in Huyton for the past nine years.
Victoria is Chair of the Knowsley Association of Secondary Headteachers and she represents the group on the Knowsley Children Safeguarding Partnership. She holds both the National Professional Qualification for Headship and the National Professional Qualification for Executive Headship. She is committed to raising educational standards across Merseyside and beyond. Her ethos combines high ambition, inclusivity and a belief in education as a driver of belonging and social and economic mobility.
Born in Sefton, Victoria studied French at the University of Leicester and trained to teach at the University of Liverpool. A Liverpool resident for twenty- five years, she is also an independentTrustee for the Liverpool Football Club Foundation and she is the Trustee for safeguarding for Liverpool Football Club.
